# Salah stunner shortlisted for Goal of the Season award

Mohamed Salah may not be in the best of form currently, but his brilliance as a footballer remains undeniable.

In case anyone needs reminding of the Egyptian’s class, his outrageous strike at home to Chelsea last season has been [nominated](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/371632-salah-strike-in-running-for-northwest-football-awards-top-goal) for Goal of the Season at the Northwest Football Awards.

Salah’s stunning effort helped earn the Reds a vital 2-0 win over Chelsea back in April, with the 27-year-old firing an unstoppable 30-yard shot into the top corner of the Kop net.

Salah is struggling for form at the moment, despite scoring eight goals in 15 appearances for Liverpool this season.

While still a threat every time he takes to the field, his all-round impact is below the required standard and he hasn’t scored in open play in the Premier League since the 3-1 victory over Newcastle United on September 14th.

Salah will come good again, though, hopefully starting against Genk at Anfield on Tuesday evening.
