# Solskjaer confident of Man United upsetting Liverpool

Ole Gunnar Solskajer admits he is confident that his Manchester United side can get a result at Liverpool this weekend.

The Reds host their rivals on Sunday afternoon, looking to make it 64 points from a possible 66 this season.

Liverpool have only beaten United [once in the last eight meetings](https://www.11v11.com/teams/liverpool/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Manchester%20United/) in all competitions – the [3-1 win at Anfield last season](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46497598).

Speaking to reporters ahead of the weekend clash, with quotes provided by the *[Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2020/01/16/manchester-united-worked-play-liverpool-says-ole-gunnar-solskjaer-12066709/)*, Solskjaer was in confident spirits, claiming his team know how to play the [Premier League leaders](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table):

> Of course it is hard, but I’ve had Liverpool here twice, we’ve drawn both.

> Of course you want to win them games but I think we’ve found a nice way of playing against them and we’ve deserved the points in both of them.

> Let’s just wait and see, because it’s a couple of days before I see you again so let’s talk about Liverpool then.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

I think Liverpool will see off United on Sunday, but it won’t be as easy as the table suggests.

It may be a cliche, but form does genuinely go out the window in this fixture, in my opinion, as proven by Liverpool [beating](https://www.11v11.com/teams/liverpool/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Manchester%20United/) their adversaries so often when Alex Ferguson was in charge of the Red Devils’ dominant period in the 1990s and 2000s.

I think the Reds’ attack will have too much for an unconvincing United back-line, however, inspiring Jurgen Klopp’s side to yet another victory.

Anfield should be rocking and Klopp will know big a win would be.
