# Swansea ‘in talks’ to sign Brewster on loan in January

Swansea City are ‘in talks’ to sign Rhian Brewster on loan in January, according to [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/1496327/?source=twitteruk)‘s James Pearce.

The 19-year-old was tipped to play a prominent squad role for the Reds this season, but it hasn’t panned out that way.

A lack of football has come Brewster’s way this season, with the last of his two appearances coming against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup in October.

It now looks as though a loan move is on the cards and Swansea are in pole position to sign him.

A formal approach has been made for the Englishman, who the Swans see as someone who could aid their Championship promotion push.

This would be the perfect move for Brewster, who needs to get regular playing time at senior level.

There is no denying his talent, but injuries have stunted his progress and he can’t afford to go backwards in his development.

Brewster still undoubtedly has a future at Liverpool and a move to Swansea would benefit all parties.
