# These Liverpool fans react to Can’s Champions League omission

Emre Can has been [omitted](https://twitter.com/juventusfcen/status/1168945625171419137?s=20) from Juventus’ Champions League squad, as his time in Italy continues to prove frustrating.

The German left Liverpool in the summer of 2018, seemingly seeing Juve as a stronger option moving forward.

Since then, however, the Reds have won the Champions League and picked up 97 points in last season’s Premier League, while Can has struggled to be a regular at his new club.

These Liverpool supporters have been reacting to the news on Twitter.

> Don’t know why some take the pleasure in sticking the boot in on Can, Coutinho or others who have left and faced difficulties. Just let it go, leave it in the past.

> Here’s the Liverpool players I care about: the present batch.
>
> Twitter having conniptions over Emre Can. Why? No one cares if your opinion on him has been justified or made a mockery of based on what Juventus do with him.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Can was always a divisive figure at Liverpool, which in many ways sums up this mixed reaction.

There were some who forever felt he was overrated, with his Champions League exclusion seen as some sort of proof that their opinion was correct.

On the flip side, those who adored him at Liverpool are clearly stinging a little, having tipped him for great things in Italy.

The truth is that there is, and always has been, a middle ground with Can.

He is a good footballer capable of brilliant and poor performances in equal measure – Liverpool were always going to be fine without him.
