# After 90: Liverpool duo prepare for Champions League clash with Real Madrid

Liverpool return to Champions League action tonight with their quarter-final second leg tie against Real Madrid.

The Reds go into the game [3-1 down](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56641937) on aggregate but there is hope that we may see another magical European night at Anfield.

First step for that, however, is by preparing well in training prior to the game.

It is fair to say that Liverpool looks to be key in focus with the task at hand and will likely relish the occasion to turn the tie around.

Two players, in particular, who look to be working hard before the game was Kostas Tsimikas and Xherdan Shaqiri.

On the Greek left-backs Instagram yesterday, Tsimikas posted a picture of the pair with the caption “Ready”…

It is good to see the pair still hard at work despite a lack of game time as of late.

Shaqiri made a real impact for the Reds when he came on against Aston Villa, with the squad going on to win the game.

Tsimikas, however, has had his chances all but dismissed with Andy Robertson still playing almost every minute.

The 24-year-old was brought in as cover the the Scotsman but his lack of time adapting to Klopp’s style has stunted his chances.

Hopefully, we will see Tsimikas feature again soon but I can’t see it being tonight given the magnitude of the game.

A substitute appearance may come his way if the Reds manage to take control of the tie, but it is highly unlikely he will start.
