# UEFA’s stance on the 2019/20 season could impact Liverpool’s title chances

UEFA could want domestic European leagues to be completed by the end of June, according to the [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/03/17/exclusive-uefa-want-european-domestic-seasons-finished-end-june/).

Football across the globe is currently postponed due to the outbreak of illness, with no definite return date set.

From a Liverpool perspective, it is a stressful time for supporters, with the Reds agonisingly close to sealing Premier League glory.

This latest update suggests that UEFA are keen for all the leagues to be finished by June 30th, with Premier League clubs expected to be told the news on Tuesday. A meeting will then take place on Thursday to discuss the situation.

The fear for Liverpool supporters is that the leagues aren’t able to be done and dusted by that point, therefore heightening the risk of the season being declared void, denying them of a first title since 1990.

Projections [currently state](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/coronavirus-peak-uk-what-next-when/) that the peak of the illness in the UK may not peak until June, adding concern to the issue.
