# Who will be Liverpool’s starting left-back next season?

Is Alberto Moreno’s time at Liverpool nearly up?

The pacey Spaniard has marked his time at Liverpool with adventurous trips down the wing, and suspect defensive positioning.

With Moreno always playing at 100mph, manager Jürgen Klopp may elect to go and buy a more comfortable left-back, to sure up the perimeter of the back four.

Where does the replacement lie, if any? Are they already in the squad? Are they playing for Klopp’s former team, Borussia Dortmund? Or are they elsewhere in the Bundesliga?

Wherever Liverpool decide to move ahead with the position, the candidate will likely be lining up with Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, and new addition from Schalke Joel Matip.

Depending on the length of Mamadou Sakho’s suspension for failing a drugs test, this could be a defensive line to get familiar with over the coming season.

So just what are Liverpool looking for in their left back? Pace? Youth? Defensive experience? Dead ball ability?

Here are some ideas.
