# Wolfsburg abandon plans to sign Origi on permanent deal

Wolfsburg have abandoned plans to sign on loan Liverpool striker Divock Origi on a permanent deal.

Origi moved to Wolfsburg in August, with the German side taking Origi on loan with a view to a permanent deal.

However, according to Kicker (via [Talksport](https://talksport.com/football/liverpool-transfer-news-divock-origi-set-anfield-return-wolfsburg-bin-plans-summer-deal)) the club have abandoned those plans due to the striker’s tough time in Germany.

Origi has only managed five goals so far in his time in Wolfsburg, with the side now prepared to send Origi back to Liverpool in the Summer.

The Belgian now looks set to return to Liverpool, where he will have to fight for his space in the side. Origi has not had the best of times in Liverpool since signing for the Reds after the 2014 World Cup.

Origi has struggled to hold down a consistent starting spot in the league, and only scored 7 goals in 34 games last season for the Reds in the League.
