# Wolves prepared for summer bids for Liverpool-linked Traore

Wolves are prepared for incoming bids for Adama Traore this summer, according to the [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/02/05/wolves-braced-adama-traore-interest-clubs-expected-go-summer/).

The winger has enjoyed a productive season for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, [scoring four goals and registering seven assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/Show/Adama-Traor%C3%A9) in the Premier League.

Liverpool are one of a host of clubs to have been [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/01/07/liverpool-among-three-clubs-interested-in-signing-adama-traore/) with his signature, ahead of a potential summer switch.

In this latest [update](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/02/05/wolves-braced-adama-traore-interest-clubs-expected-go-summer/), Traore is described as the latest winger to catch the eye of the top clubs.

I have completely changed my stance on Traore, who deserves great praise for his performances this season. There was a time when I believed he was nothing more than a speed merchant with no end product to his game, something many [Wolves fans](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/wolves/wolves-fans-delighted-with-adama-traore-after-previous-criticism-over-lack-of-end-product/) once believed too.

That aspect of Traore’s play has gone up a gear in 2019/20, however, as his [four goals and seven assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/Show/Adama-Traor%C3%A9) prove. He managed just [one apiece in the whole of last season](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/History/Adama-Traor%C3%A9), further highlighting the improvements he has made to his game.

I’m still not convinced he could be good enough for Liverpool, however, with the Reds a major step up in quality when compared to Wolves. While his blistering pace could certainly be a lethal weapon from the substitutes’ bench, I have still doubts about his ability to adapt to a different style and his consistency in a team that is now seen as the [best in the world.](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2636636.html)

While Wolves’ game is based around counter-attacks, which are ideal for Traore’s game, I don’t believe he has the technical expertise to play in a team who dominate possession so often. His [73.1 per cent pass completion](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/Show/Adama-Traor%C3%A9) rate in the league this season is inferior to both Mohamed Salah ([77.2%](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/108226/Show/Mohamed-Salah)) and Sadio Mane ([81.4%](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/109915/Show/Sadio-Man%C3%A9)), according to [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/).
