# Zakaria won’t leave until the end of the season, claims agent

Denis Zakaria won’t be allowed to leave Borussia Monchengladbach in January, according to his agent, Mathieu Beda.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Manchester United rumoured to be among those interested.

There has been talk of Zakaria potentially exiting Monchengladbach in the January transfer window, but that now appears unlikely.

[Speaking](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/denis-zakaria-agent-makes-transfer-20905094) to *Sport Bild*, Beda confirmed that his player would not be considering joining a new club until the end of the season:

> Denis will not leave Borussia in the winter, a change is 100 per cent excluded.

> Denis is in very good shape in Gladbach and has been playing really well for weeks, but he still has more potential and he wants to show that in Gladbach now instead of dealing with a change.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Zakaria is an exciting talent with a bright future, so it’s no surprise to see Liverpool among those interested in snapping him up.

The 22-year-old would be a good signing for the Reds, but there isn’t any great need for him currently.

Midfield is arguably Liverpool’s most well-stocked area of the pitch, with Jurgen Klopp having seven or eight good options to choose from in the middle of the park.

Zakaria could come in as a long-term acquisition, however, especially with the likes of James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum not getting any younger.
