# Harry Wilson looks to three footballing greats for inspiration

Harry Wilson believes that having three footballing greats in Jurgen Klopp, Frank Lampard and Ryan Giggs in helping him progress as a footballer.

The Welshman has made a name for himself this season whilst on loan at Derby and has specifically caught the imaginations of fans with his spectacular free kicks against Ireland and his parent club’s rivals Manchester United. On the goal he said this to The Liverpool Echo, via [The Mirror:](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/harry-wilson-using-experience-three-13433727)

> As a Liverpool fan to score at Old Trafford was special.

But despite being away from Anfield, fighting for promotion with Derby County, he is keeping in contact with Klopp.

> I have messaged Klopp a few times. I know he is keeping an eye on the loan players to see how they are doing.

> We all know the way Jurgen wants his teams to play. We all see the system and how we could fit in. But I have to be focused on what my club manager wants at Derby.

That manager is former Chelsea midfielder who has guided the Rams into the promotion picture with his side currently one point outside of the playoffs.

On the international stage, Giggs has started to form a new Wales setup around his young players and Wilson has become a crucial part of that. Wilson got his chance to shine yesterday as Gareth Bale was ruled out through injury allowing Wilson to step up and fire a superb free-kick beyond Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

Wilson’s free-kick has now put Wales in pole position to get promoted to League A.
