# Liverpool eager to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia

Liverpool are considering a move for highly-rated Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia in January.

According to [TuttoMercatoWeb](https://www.transfermarketweb.com/?action=read&idsel=180376), via the [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/552591/Geoffrey-Kondogbia-Liverpool-news-gossip), Jurgen Klopp has informed the Liverpool board of his desire to try and sign Kondogbia when the transfer window re-opens in three months.

The Frenchman moved to Inter Milan from AS Monaco last summer in a deal worth €31m (£27m). Since his switch to Serie A, Kondogbia has struggled to live up to expectations after bursting onto the European football scene in Ligue 1.

His agent, Jonathan Maarek, has hinted that his client could be on the move in the near future.

“Kondogbia is certainly a top level player’, Maarek told [TuttoMercatoWeb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/inter/?action=read&idtmw=886762).

“He has a lot of quality and is very young, so obviously he has a lot of clubs interested in him. Can I name them? I will just say that he is not lacking interested clubs.”

Liverpool have a lot of bodies in that midfield area, meaning a lot of mouths to feed which makes it hard to see where Kondogbia fits in immediately.

However, a player of his quality and potential has a place in the squad of any top side, and after all, it is a squad game.
