# Liverpool pursue Bayern midfielder Renato Sanches

Liverpool have entered the race for the signature of highly-rated Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches as a possible replacement for Philippe Coutinho, according to a report on [Sport Bild](https://sportbild.bild.de/fussball/2017/fussball/transfer-boerse-liverpool-klopp-keita-goretzka-sanches-schalke-bayern-monaco-mbappe-52698706.sport.html).

The £43m rated Portuguese midfielder has been frustrated by a lack of game time at the German Bundesliga champions and according to the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-renato-sanches-coutinho-transfer-10905374), the Reds are keeping a close eye on his situation.

Liverpool boss wants to sign Sanches on a permanent basis and is not interest in a loan move, with the German giants open to the idea of selling him after a disappointing season at the Allianz Arena.

The 19-year-old was hugely impressive in the 2016 European Championships with Portugal which is what earned him a big money move to Bayern Munich from Benfica.

However, he has found it hard to break into the first team and has been used mainly as a substitute which is why he wants to move. Chelsea and Manchester United have both also been linked.

Bayern have confirmed that if the right amount of money is offered then they will not stand in the way of Sanches leaving the club, which has put AC Milan and Chelsea on alert.

Liverpool are now also in the race and with the Reds likely to scrap a move for Naby Keita this summer, it could open up a move for Sanches.
