# Oxlade-Chamberlain to start for England against Slovenia

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will start for England in there World Cup Qualifier against Slovenia tonight, alongside Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane, according to a report on [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12016/11067542/alex-oxlade-chamberlain-to-start-for-england-against-slovenia-in-world-cup-qualifier).

The ex-Arsenal man has had a disappointing start to life at Anfield but will be hoping to put that behind him for this fixture as a win for England will secure qualification for the World Cup this summer.

England failed to beat Slovenia when they last met and will be hoping to pick up all three points this time.

The midfielder has started just once for the Reds since his £35m move from Arsenal at the end of the transfer window and that in the dismal 2-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup against Leicester.

However, he has made five substitute appearances but has failed to leave his mark on any of the matches which has raised some concerns among Liverpool fans.

Chamberlain had a chance to snatch the three points at St James’ Park on the weekend but failed to hit the target in what ended up being a disappointing 1-1 draw for the Merseyside club.

The 24-year-old will be hoping for a good performance to try and force himself into the starting XI at Anfield.
