# That was TBT Talks

When we started TBT Talks, there were very few Liverpool podcasts about and we felt like we offered the chance for Liverpool fans from around the UK and the world to speak about the club; something that was fairly unique at the time.

In all honesty, we were amazed by the number of people who tuned in. Some people disparaged us as a bunch of kids who didn’t have a clue, but a lot of fans seemed to enjoy the shows we created. In truth, listening back, the early stuff we put out was pretty poor! 7 Days 7 Words, the TBT Name Game; wow those were bad, but thankfully the listenership stuck by us and gave us feedback on how to improve the show.

Most of you will listen to the other great Liverpool podcasts on offer, and you’ll notice that a large majority of the people who host or appear on them – especially the non-studio produced ones – actually got their first podcast experience with TBT Talks, and that’s something we’re very proud of.

However, all good things must come to an end, and we feel like this is that time for TBT Talks. The show started off being hosted by Harry Hugo, with regulars such as Jack Sear and Dan Wilcox appearing pretty much every week. I jumped on the bandwagon pretty early on as a guest, and for some reason people actually cared what I said, which was nice!

Harry and Dan passed the show on to me as they looked to develop both themselves as people and the Fresh Press brand; a brand which you’ll be seeing a lot more of in the not-to-distant future!

I, along with Craig ‘Ozzy’ Austin, took over the hosting & co-hosting duties, and again we felt like it’s gone pretty well. A move away from recorded Skype calls and into The Redmen TV studio helped us even more. The sound quality and production value of the show became much better, and that was reflected in the number of listens we received, as that increased.

I’ve really enjoyed hosting the show, but over the last few months it’s become tough for me to put in the time and dedication to the show that it deserves, due to both work and family commitments.

I’d like to thank everyone who’s given up their time to appear on the show, especially the regulars like Ozzy. I’d also like to say a huge thanks to Chris Pajak from The Redmen TV for the time and effort he’s given to producing the show each week. There’s a lot of Liverpool content about, but for me, the guys at RMTV produce the best stuff and to be associated with them was a great thing for our show.

Finally, on behalf of the team I’d like to say a huge thank you to the listeners. Without you guys, the podcast would’ve been nothing. Like we’ve mentioned, there’s so many LFC podcasts around, so we appreciate you taking the time to listen to ours.

The TBT website, along with Fresh Press as a whole, will continue to grow, and in fact with more time and effort going into it, we think it’ll be much improved.

So yeah, that’s it. That was TBT Talks, see ya later.
