Liverpool and Leicester City: Combined XI

Liverpool start off their home campaign against last season’s champions Leicester City, currently sitting in 11th position in the league after an average start Liverpool will be hoping to get another big result under their belts. Leicester have the same points tally from the opening three games as the Red Men but boast a better goal difference; arguably having an easier run of fixtures, however.

In front of the new main stand, Jurgen Klopp’s team will look to show the extra 8,000 fans inside the stadium what they can do and despite Can and Klavan being injured Liverpool will field a very strong side to face the foxes. Leicester also have the players to field a very strong side and should not be underestimated, despite losing a big player in Kante they have bought well and new players Mendy, Musa and Slimani add Champions League pedigree to the team; with their biggest coups being able to keep hold of Vardy and Mahrez.

Nobody expects Ranieri’s men to repeat what they did last season but they will still be hoping to challenge for a Champions League spot, they certainly have the quality for it. Saying that here is my combined Liverpool and Leicester XI:
