Liverpool predicted XI: Brighton (H)

Liverpool will return to Anfield in high spirits ahead of Saturday’s late kick-off against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Chris Hughton’s side similarly have reasons to be quietly confident after an impressive 3-2 win last weekend over a below-par Manchester United. Brighton were great value for the win, outplaying United for large stretches of the game, and most significantly from a Liverpool perspective, managing to stifle the Red Devils in the second half with a solid defensive showing.

In last season’s two games between the sides, Liverpool dismantled the Seagulls both home and away, but a trickier test should be expected on Saturday afternoon, with Brighton setting out to earn their first away points of the season.

Liverpool, thus far, have been ruthless and efficient, if slightly unspectacular. Brighton will, therefore, be hopeful they can spring a surprise on a Liverpool side yet to hit top form. With all that in mind, Jurgen Klopp will have to decide whether to stick with the team that defeated both West Ham and Palace, or freshen things up with one or two changes.

Here’s the Reds’ lineup which I think will take to the field on Saturday afternoon at Anfield.
