# Liverpool vs Spurs: Team news

Anfield will be the place to be on Sunday afternoon as Liverpool host Tottenham Hotspur as a part of Sky Sports’ Super Sunday offering.

After the Reds’ thumping 3-0 win at the John Smith’s Stadium against Huddersfield, they will also be buoyed by the likely return of centre-back Virgil van Dijk, who was absent last time out after being rested.

Adam Lallana also returned to training this week, but after just recovering from a recurring thigh problem, it is unlikely that Klopp will feature the midfield talisman on Sunday. Full-back Nathaniel Clyne, who hasn’t featured this season, is still out due to a back problem, but Klopp has stated that he is close to a return to training.

**Predicted XI:** Karius, Gomez, Matip, van Dijk, Robertson, Can, Henderson (C), Oxlade-Chamberlain, Salah, Mane, Firmino.

As for the away side, Spurs kicked their season back into gear with a confident 2-0 win over Man Utd at Wembley. However, they’ll likely be without Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld, who are both still under assessment, even after returning to first-team training.

Spurs will also be without Harry Winks, who is still on the mend after an ankle injury.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino also said that new £25 million man Lucas Moura is unlikely to play due to like of match fitness, last playing a full 90 minutes seven months ago. Serge Aurier is expected to return to the side after his resting midweek.

**Predicted XI:** Lloris (C), Davies, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Aurier, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Kane.
