# Four Findings: Brighton and Hove Albion 1-5 Liverpool

Still in the midst of possibly the most crucial period in their campaign, Liverpool visited the South Coast with another rotated squad. Again, requiring some patience, the Reds made good on their dominance to topple Brighton and Hove Albion 5-1 at the American Express Stadium, in front of their largest ever crowd.

While this is a match that Liverpool should be confident in winning, the fixture congestion and playing away from home makes for no easy matches. Still, the Reds retained their attacking form and took things to the home side from the start. After Emre Can’s goal from a corner kick, they were able to turn their dominance of possession into gilt-edged chances on the break.

Both the second and third goals were vintage counter-attacking Liverpool brilliance. Each finished by Roberto Firmino, they punctuated just how devastating Liverpool’s attack can be when on form and feeling it.

The pace with which the Reds can strike is breathtaking, as most clearly evidenced by their third goal. From a spectaclular Simon Mignolet save and clearance from Dejan Lovren, to three one-touch passes between the attacking trio, resulting in a ball to Firmino for a one-time finish, it was Liverpool at their scintillating best.

Even with a makeshift defence for the team to cover for Joel Matip’s late injury, the Reds simply possessed too much quality for the newly promoted side. Regardless of defensive concerns, the side is scoring again and scoring freely, which may be just what they need to get to the January transfer window.

Here are four findings from the match.
