# Four Findings: Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool

In a match that may actually have title implications, Liverpool headed to Old Trafford to battle their most hated rivals. Trying to keep pace with a Chelsea side that has so rarely surrendered points this season, the Reds met a somewhat resurgent Manchester United and left with a 1-1 draw.

It was a point away from home but Liverpool had to have left feeling unsatisfied. Unable to hold off a Untied team that resigned itself to hoofing the ball forward to big men in the box, this match played out like a missed opportunity.

Liverpool were clearly the better team, looking to attack and find a way back to their early season form. United were not quite as cynical as they were when they visited Anfield earlier in the autumn but they weren’t far off.

Despite a somewhat entertaining but cagey affair, the Reds continued to work tirelessly only to find frustration at the final whistle.

Jurgen Klopp’s men just could not make their advantage stick. Benefitting from a clear penalty when Paul Pogba handled a corner kick, Liverpool looked like they might be able to add to their advantage. Had Liverpool’s finishing been more clinical, they could have won this running away.

Yet the forces at play against the visitors, which seemed to include the referees just as much as the home side, prevented Liverpool from taking all three points. Michael Oliver continued adding Reds to his book while the home side got away with repeated assaults whilst his assistant botched an offside call that led to the equalizer.

Liverpool might not be able to blame the referees for this but they certainly have cause to feel fury.

Here are four findings from the match.
