# Four Findings: Plymouth Argyle 0-1 Liverpool

In a dominant but dreary affair, Liverpool advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 0-1 result against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park. While the Reds secured a date with Wolves, they did not play particularly well against the League Two side.

Similar to the last tie, Plymouth proved difficult to break down despite Liverpool starting with greater firepower. Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge both got the opportunity to gain some match minutes to refine their sharpness. The inclusion of deeper experience and higher quality was not enough to lift Liverpool completely.

Stand-in captain Lucas Leiva scored his first goal since 2010 off a Coutinho corner kick to give the Reds the advantage in the 18th minute. Instead of building on the opener and finishing off the hosts, Liverpool were sloppy and somewhat content with dominating possession and position. It could have been costly as Plymouth refused to go down without a scrap and looked for an equaliser.

Late in the second half, Alberto Moreno was fouled in the box, awarding Liverpool a penalty kick. Yet, Divock Origi spurned the chance to put the game out of reach, missing with a poor shot straight down the middle at the goalkeeper. The moment nearly exemplified the evening.

19-year-old Harry Wilson enjoyed his first-team debut and nearly nicked a deflected goal from a poor keeper clearance. Jurgen Klopp giving the academy product a runout was one of the few genuinely positive moments in a pretty droll fixture.

Here are four findings from the match.
