# Match Gallery: Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool

Liverpool held on in a nervy second half to claim an impressive 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and move into the top four of the Premier League.

After a strong start, the Reds took the lead when an unmarked Dejan Lovren steered home Philippe Coutinho’s cross in the 17th minute.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson then doubled his side’s advantage with a sensational curling effort from 25 yards, putting the away side firmly in command at half time.

Some poor defending, however, allowed Chelsea back into the game as Diego Costa tapped in just after the hour mark.

Antonio Conte’s team piled on the pressure, but Liverpool held firm to continue their promising start to the new season.
