# Player Ratings: Southampton 3-2 Liverpool

In a tale of two halves, Liverpool cruised to an easy 2-0 lead in the first and Southampton clawed their way back and rode their momentum to secure a 3-2 victory.

Both sides made half-time substitutions but they proved decisively one-sided.

Ronald Koeman desperately looked to recover something from an awful opening forty-five. He added Victor Wanyama and Sadio Mane after the break and Southampton instantly wrestled a match back from the brink.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp started the second half with optimism that Liverpool could close out the match. He opted for Martin Skrtel and later Christian Benteke, neither of whom could make anything but bad impressions.

The result saw Liverpool losing for the first time in Premier League history after leading by two or more goals at the break. All the confidence built over recent weeks unraveled in a free fall, leaving the Reds with plenty to think about over the international break.

Here are my player ratings from the game.
