# AC Milan and Lazio eye summer move for Lallana

AC Milan and Lazio are keen on signing Adam Lallana at the end of this season, according to *[Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.it/news/364198/calciomercato_milan_e_lazio_addio_liverpool_lallana_e_un_opzione)*, via *[Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/ac-milan-lazio-move-liverpool-midfielder-summer-milan-already-considered-january-transfer/)*.

The 31-year-old is [expected to leave](https://theathletic.com/1457865/2019/12/13/discussion-why-has-klopp-signed-a-new-deal-at-liverpool-now/?redirected=1) Liverpool when his [contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adam-lallana/profil/spieler/43530) expires at the end of the campaign, having spent six years at Anfield.

Lallana isn’t without potential suitors, with Leicester City [emerging](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/07/leicester-lead-the-race-to-sign-lallana-this-summer/) as one recently, and now Milan and Lazio thought to be in the mix.

Milan apparently thought about a move for the midfielder in January, but decided to wait until the summer instead.

Meanwhile, Lazio think qualifying for the Champions League could make them an interesting proposition to Lallana.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

The time is right for Lallana to move on, in my opinion, as he reaches the end of his contract.

Despite being viewed as a positive influence in the dressing room, the Englishman has been an inconsistent performer for too long, [scoring and assisting just once](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/21683/History/Adam-Lallana) in the Premier League since May 2017.

Lallana has also suffered constant [injury problems](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adam-lallana/verletzungen/spieler/43530), and while that hasn’t been the case this season, there is no guaranteeing that his issues won’t return, which makes offering him a new deal a risk.

The ex-Southampton man is also one of the club’s highest earners, taking home [£110,000 a week](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/liverpool-f.c/payroll/), so him leaving could free-up funds for new players.

Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz is a midfielder who has been [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/01/15/liverpool-reportedly-readying-huge-offer-for-havertz/) with Liverpool, with the German 11 years Lallana’s junior, and he could be an ideal replacement for the former England international.
