The midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff, helping Neil Warnock’s men seal promotion to the top flight.

Liverpool are keen for the player to continue his development next season with regular first-team football, something that is not on offer at Anfield.

Cardiff are thought to be leading the race to sign the player on loan due to his relationship with Warnock, who is keen to bring him back to the club.

The report claims that the Premier League new boys were delighted with the impact he made in the second tier.
