The Daily Star claim that Manchester United were readying a £25m bid for Bergwijn before Milan opened talks with PSV.

Bergwijn has impressed for PSV in Holland and is attracting interest from a host of clubs in Europe, including Liverpool.

The 21-year-old has been capped twice by Holland at senior level and made the best part of 100 senior appearances for PSV in the Dutch league.

Liverpool are said to have watched Bergwijn back in October and are still keen on a deal to sign him this month.
