# AC Milan join the race for Liverpool’s Marko Grujic

AC Milan have joined the pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic, as per [The Mail.](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8666889/Milan-Benevento-set-sights-Liverpool-outcast-Marko-Grujic.html)

Milan, have joined fellow Serie A side Benevento and German Bundesliga club Herta Berlin, Grujic’s home for the previous two seasons, in the race to sign the 24-year-old.

Since arriving at Anfield from Red Star Belgrade in 2016, Grujic has been on loan for much of his time. Now having made just 14 appearances for the Reds, it appears his time with the Premier League champions may coming to an end.

A further report in [Tuttmercatoweb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/tmw-benevento-offerta-per-grujic-prestito-con-obbligo-riscatto-contatti-anche-con-il-milan-1425001) has claimed the newly promoted Serie A outfit Benevento are in advanced negotiations to sign Grujic on loan with the option to buy him at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

However, with new interest from Italian giants AC and further onlookers from the Premier League and Bundesliga, it seems Grujic’s future is far from certain.

One thing that does seem certain, however, is that Jurgen Klopp seems ready to part ways with the Serbian, who he once had high hopes for. With the plethora of midfield options the Reds have, and with Thiago strongly linked with a move to Anfield, Grujic’s days at Liverpool seem to be numbered.

Attracting such interest could lead to a bidding war with the Reds likely to received around £18 million for the transfer, funds that will be most welcome.
