# AC Milan set to launch fresh bid to sign Liverpool target Ozan Kabak

AC Milan are set to submit a fresh bid for Liverpool target [Ozan Kabak](https://readliverpoolfc.com/?p=106746) in January, according to *[Milan News](https://www.milannews.it/calciomercato-milan/tuttosport-milan-proseguono-i-contatti-con-l-agente-di-kabak-possibile-nuovo-assalto-al-turco-a-gennaio-391731)* \[via [*Tuttosport*](https://www.tuttosport.com/)\].

The Reds have been [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/?p=106746) with a move for the Schalke centre-back in the next transfer window, in order to tackle their current [injury crisis](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/sperrenundverletzungen/verein/31).

With Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez both potentially missing the rest of the season, it could be that Jurgen Klopp brings in a new face.

A move for Kabak may be off the table, with this latest report claiming Milan are expected to bid for the 20-year-old in January, having failed to sign him during the summer.

The Serie A giants are believed to be in contact with the player’s representatives.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

It is unknown whether or not Liverpool’s interest in Kabak is genuine, but this could be a potential blow.

The young centre-back is a cheaper option than someone like [Dayot Upamecano](https://readliverpoolfc.com/?p=108538) or [Kalidou Koulibaly](https://readliverpoolfc.com/?p=106659), and is at an age where he would be a long-term addition.

Klopp could possibly be happy with the options at his disposal, however, even with Van Dijk and Gomez out.

There is a huge risk in that respect, though, considering Joel Matip’s [injury-prone](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joel-matip/verletzungen/spieler/82105) nature, not to mention the inexperience of Nathaniel Phillips and Rhys Williams.

If a deal for Kabak could be struck, it would be worth it, with the Schalke man winning an impressive average of [3.3 aerial duels](https://1xbet.whoscored.com/Players/356743/Show/Ozan-Kabak) per game in the Bundesliga this season.
