# ‘Aggressive’ – Virgil van Dijk says Liverpool fans have fallen in love with summer signing

**Virgil van Dijk led Liverpool to a commanding 2-0 win against Brighton at Anfield.**

The Reds showed their class at home with a composed display and have now moved to third place in the Premier League table.

An own goal from Pascal Gross and a fantastic first-time finish from Alexander Isak got the job done for Liverpool on the night.

However, there were a handful of creditable individual performances across the pitch, like Ronald Araujo at right-back.

And Van Dijk feels the Uruguayan’s careful aggressiveness has really endeared him to the Anfield faithful.

Araujo was in the thick of the action, throwing his body on the line to win duels and get Liverpool out of tricky situations, which really got the crowd going.

Van Dijk feels his infectious energy has rubbed off on his teammates as he praised Araujo for his performance against one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League.

“He was very aggressive in the right moments, at the right time, and that’s what we need,” said Van Dijk after the game.

Araujo has really won the fans over with his performance and attitude since joining. If he carries on in the same vein, Liverpool could well exercise the option to buy him permanently from Barcelona next summer.
