# Alexander-Arnold hoping to start in the next few weeks

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is hoping to return to the starting line up in the next few weeks.

The right-back has been struggling with an injury of late and has been forced to sit on the sidelines, and the bench, for recent matches.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are not in action for another week, having already been knocked out of the FA Cup by Wolves.

They face Bayern Munich at Anfield in the Champions League next Tuesday, and Alexander-Arnold will be hoping to start.

[As quoted by Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/11636182/trent-alexander-arnold-keen-to-regain-liverpool-starting-spot-after-knee-injury), Alexander-Arnold said this:

> I feel good; it was good to get a bit of fitness in there at the weekend and that’ll help me get back to full fitness and to push on and hopefully start a few games in the next few weeks.

> It was something I’ve never really experienced before in being injured.

> It was something new and something to get my head around, so it was tough to me. But it’s thanks to the manager, the physios and the medical department in helping me get back so quickly – ahead of schedule.

The England international has made over 50 first-team appearances for Liverpool since breaking into the starting line up last season under Klopp.

He played in the Champions League final for Liverpool last season, before jetting out to Russia with England for the World Cup.
