# Allen “disappointed” by Pascoe exit

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen is “disappointed” by Colin Pascoe’s departure from the club.

The former assistant manager at Anfield was dismissed earlier this month, following first-team coach Mike Marsh through the exit.

Outgoing captain Steven Gerrard said he was surprised to see the duo leave the club, and Welshman Allen, who joined the Reds  shortly after Brendan Rodgers and Pascoe arrived from Swansea, says the 50-year-old has been an important figure during his career.

*“I’m very disappointed, he’s been someone who’s been instrumental in my career,” said Allen.*

*“We’ve worked together for… must be nine years, so he’s been a huge part of my career, a massive help to me on a personal level.*

*“I’m very grateful for all the effort he’s put in with me and it’s certainly without someone like Pas’s help I doubt I’d be playing at a club like Liverpool.”*

Marsh and Pascoe were both given the boot after an end-of-season review with FSG, but manager Rodgers kept his place in the dugout.

In a disappointing campaign, Liverpool finished in sixth place, thus missed out on Champions League qualification, and failed to win a trophy.
