# Andoni Iraola provides Dom Szoboszlai injury update ahead of Liverpool vs Manchester City

**When Liverpool’s lineup was announced about an hour ago, fans quickly noticed that Dom Szoboszlai’s name was missing from the teamsheet altogether.**

The Hungarian midfielder has been an indispensable asset for Andoni Iraola and has played every meaningful minute for the Reds so far this season.

A few minutes ago, James Pearce confirmed that Szoboszlai is out with a hamstring problem.

And now, ahead of kickoff, Iraola believes it is a problem he has been nursing since the international break.

## Iraola says Szoboszlai has hamstring problem

“Another one coming from the international games,” said Iraola before the game via the [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/live/cr3el8xwnnxkt).

“He came with an overload, he felt a tight hamstring. He’s tried somehow, kind of pushing through training, but he was not feeling 100% and we will have to wait for Dom, yes.”

Judging by his comments, it doesn’t appear to be a big problem.

However, over the past week, injuries have begun piling up for Liverpool, who will also be without Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo after they suffered injuries during the international break.

The likes of Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni remain on the sidelines, while Federico Chiesa is in the matchday squad after recovering from his injury.
