# Andy Robertson says Joe Gomez is Liverpool’s quickest player

Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson believes that Joe Gomez is the fastest player in the Reds’ squad.

The captain of the Scotland national team was interviewed by sprinter Adam Gemili for the BBC’s Premier League Show and was asked about the quickest players in the Liverpool squad.

Whilst many fans would have expected Robertson to name one of Liverpool’s star forwards; Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah, as the quickest player in the squad, he plumped for a fellow defender.

He said:

> The obvious contenders are Mo and Sadio but if I was going to back anyone it would be Joe Gomez. I think everyone has seen his recovery pace.

Robertson also threw his fellow full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold into the mix.

> Trent (Alexander-Arnold) would back himself (in a race between them all) as well.

Liverpool will face Arsenal at the Emirates later this evening and, fitness permitting, they could come up against speedsters like Hector Bellerin and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, so we might see the likes of Gomez and Robertson himself need to turn on the jets in certain situations.
