# Arsenal make €80m move for Liverpool target Nicolas Pepe

Arsenal have made a lucrative €80m offer for Liverpool transfer target Nicolas Pepe, according to [Telefoot.](https://www.tf1.fr/tf1/telefoot/news/exclu-telefoot-13-07-arsenal-offre-80-millions-deuros-pour-pepe-66682815.html)

The report claims that Arsenal are keen on a deal for the forward and have made an official offer in the region of €80m.

Liverpool have been[linked](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/media-watch/356265-liverpool-tc-transfer-rumours-nicolas-pepe) with Lille star, but could now be beaten to the punch by Arsenal if they strike a deal with the Ligue 1 club.

Due to his ferocious pace, potent finishing and fantastic work rate, he fits Klopp’s philosophy perfectly. The relentless Ivorian international contributed a staggering 33 goals last season for Lille.

Furthermore, there was speculation last season that Arsenal were interested in Nicolas Pepe. If the deal does now go through, Arsenal will have a huge prospect on their hands next year.

Moreover, back in February the Lille manager Christophe Galter mentioned, as quoted by [TalkSport,](https://talksport.com/football/499450/lille-christophe-galtier-arsenal-bayern-munich-paris-saint-germain-transfer-nicolas-pepe/)that

> I can see him well in a team that plays in red. He has to go to a Champions League club. In my opinion, he does not need an intermediate step to go as high as possible.
