# Atletico Madrid close in on Liverpool target Martins

Atletico Madrid are reportedly closing in on a deal for Liverpool target Gelson Martins.

The winger had been under contract at Sporting, but terminated the agreement after the club’s fans attacked the players and coaching staff.

With several European giants vying for the 23-year-old’s signature, Liverpool had been facing competition from Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.
