# Aurelien Nguiamba snubs Liverpool and signs extension with Nancy

Liverpool have been dealt a blow after as French midfielder Aurelien Nguiamba snubbed the chance to move to the Reds, as per [reports in France](https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2018/aurelien-nguiamba-decides-to-snub-liverpool-interest-will-sign-a-pro-deal-with-nancy/).

According to reports, Liverpool had approached the teenager and asked him not to put pen to paper on a new deal so they could weigh up whether or not to make him an offer of their own.

However, the 19-year-old decided not to wait for the Reds and has agreed to sign a three-year extension with Nancy.

The French U19 midfielder recently broke into the Nancy first team and will hope to stay at the Ligue 2 side for the immediate future.

Nancy will be glad to keep hold of their bright young asset as they’ve gone through a really tough period as of late.

They were relegated from Ligue 1 at the end of the 2016/17 season and were almost relegated again a year later, finishing just two points above the relegation play-off places.
