# Barcelona interested in signing rumoured Liverpool target Traore

Barcelona are interested in signing Adama Traore from Wolves this summer, according to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7975409/Barcelona-considering-shock-bring-Adama-Traore-Nou-Camp.html).

The 24-year-old has shone in the Premier League this season, scoring [four goals and registering seven assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/Show/Adama-Traor%C3%A9).

Manchester City have twice felt the wrath of Traore, with the Spaniard finding the net [three times](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/Show/Adama-Traor%C3%A9) against them in 2019/20.

Liverpool have been [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/07/liverpool-fans-arent-keen-on-reds-signing-traore-from-wolves/) with a move for the speedy winger and Barcelona are now being tipped to seal a reunion with him. Wolves are [reported](https://www.90min.in/posts/6545906-wolves-set-75-million-transfer-price-tag-on-liverpool-target-adama-traore) to value Traore at £75 million.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

I would be shocked if Liverpool were willing to spend £75 million on Traore, especially considering they paid the [same amount](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42496637) for Virgil van Dijk. Traore has only produced the goods for one season in the top flight, so far, so Wolves demanding as much as £75 million seems over-the-top.

While the wide man deserves credit for a much improved season in terms of productivity – he only got [one league goal and assist](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/History/Adama-Traor%C3%A9) apiece last season – he is not worthy of such a price tag.

If Liverpool signed him, I don’t believe it would be as a regular starter, considering the brilliance of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, so it is impossible to justify spending so much on a back-up.

If he were to become available at a much cheaper price, I could see the value in the Reds taking a risk on Traore as they could look to polish his all-round game and make him an impact substitute.

I still have doubts about whether or not Traore could adapt to a change in style, however, with Wolves tending to be a counter-attacking team and Liverpool more a possession-based side.

His pass completion rate of [73.1 per cent](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/140088/Show/Adama-Traor%C3%A9) in the league this season is comfortably inferior to Salah ([77.2%](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/108226/Show/Mohamed-Salah)) and Mane’s ([81.4%](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/109915/Show/Sadio-Man%C3%A9)), suggesting he concedes possession more regularly.
