# Barcelona open to Rakitic swap deal for Coutinho

Barcelona are open to including Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic in a deal to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool this summer.

According to Spanish outlet, [Don Balon](https://www.donbalon.com/noticia/detalle/49337/-sorprendente--el-jugador-que-el-barca-esta-dispuesto-a-meter-en-la-%E2%80%98operacion-coutinho%E2%80%99), the European giants want to sign the Brazilian this summer and would be ready to sacrifice their midfielder, as well as a transfer fee to secure a deal.

Coutinho has long been linked with a move to the Nou Camp after starring in the Liverpool side in recent seasons.

Any deal between the two sides is said to depend on who the Catalan side appoint as their new manager, with Luis Enrique set to leave at the end of the season.

Reports have intensified after Barcelona superstar, Neymar talked up a move for his Brazilian team-mate.

Rakitic has fallen down the pecking order in Spain, but getting a player of the Croatian’s pedigree in return may make losing the Brazilian a little easier for Jurgen Klopp.

Coutinho has scored just seven goals for Liverpool this season but was also sidelined for a prolonged period of the season through injury.
