# Bologna keen on Balotelli

Bologna are the latest club to show interest in Italian striker Mario Balotelli, according to [The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jul/29/mario-balotelli-bologna-liverpool-serie-a).

After interest shown by Sampdoria in the past week, the Rossoblu have reportedly joined the race for Balotelli and are looking to edge out la Samp for the forward’s signature.

Bologna are back in the the Italian top flight after spending this past season in Serie B, finishing fourth and securing promotion through a play-off final, and believe Balotelli could be the man to bolster their attack.

Although he finished the 2014-15 season with only one league goal for Liverpool, Bologna’s director of sport Pantaleo Corvino remains optimistic that a return to the Serie A is the right movie for the former Inter and AC Milan hitman:

*“I would take him, he would be highly motivated here,”* Corvino told Italian publication *Corriere dello Sport*.

The Bolognese club are looking to sign him on a season-long loan but, according to Corvino, if the price tag isn’t too hefty the club might even think about a long-term deal for the man from Palermo.

He added: *“Of course, Bologna have to respect certain financial parameters, but for the right price I would even look at the possibility of buying him outright.”*

Sampdoria’s president Massimo Ferrero has recently revealed that the Reds’ asking price for the Italian misfit is €10m (£7.1m), a price he believes is a bit too high.
