# Bordeaux boss drops hint that Liverpool may want Malcom

Bordeaux winger Malcom has emerged as a highly coveted player in European football in recent months, with a host of top clubs keen to land him.

Arsenal and Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the Brazilian wide man, who is being tipped for big things in the near future. However, his current club Bordeaux are desperate to retain his services for the foreseeable future if they can.

No talks have taken place yet regarding a move away for Malcom, and the Ligue 1 side’s boss Jocelyn Gourvennec recently discussed the player’s future.

Liverpool are one of few top-flight sides that haven’t been linked with a move for Malcom. However, rather peculiarly, Bordeaux boss Gourvennec hinted towards Anfield being a potential destination for the promising youngster.

As quoted by the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-placed-frame-bordeaux-star-14162328), the Bordeaux manager said:

> I can’t deny that he’s being followed by a lot of people. With Malcom, I go from day-to-day. He’s committed. He’s a bit like he was in the summer – I wouldn’t say he has been disturbed by it, that’s a bit strong, he’s not disturbed, but he is asking questions.

> He’s asking himself what’s the best thing for him, for his future. That’s logical. If he’s asking questions and he still manages to make assists or score goals, it’ll be fine. If Liverpool want you to work for them tomorrow, you’d go.

Liverpool may be keen to replace Philippe Coutinho this month following his move to Barcelona, and Malcom would certainly add another dimension to the team’s attack.
