# ‘Can hurt’ – Chris Sutton makes emphatic Liverpool vs Brighton scoreline prediction

**Liverpool will take on Brighton at Anfield on Sunday in what promises to be an exciting Premier League contest.**

The Seagulls are currently one of the most in-form teams in world football and are third in the Premier League.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side have been in fine form in front of goal, while the Reds continue to evolve under Andoni Iraola.

And Chris Sutton feels the Seagulls will record a statement victory at Anfield, having already beaten Manchester United and Arsenal this season.

## Liverpool tipped to lose to Brighton

“Liverpool have an extra 48 hours to prepare for this game – they played Villarreal at home on Tuesday, while Brighton are away in the Czech Republic on Thursday,” wrote Sutton in his column for the [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c3y0eqkneze4o).

“I don’t think it will make any difference, though, because the way that the Seagulls play, I am expecting them to go to Anfield and win.

“This has the makings of a great game but, while Liverpool have had a couple of good results, I am still not convinced by them.

“Andoni Iraola’s side are a work in progress with a tendency to empty their midfield and that means Brighton can hurt them.”

The Reds also have a few injury issues to deal with, so it goes without saying that the clash against the Seagulls is one of their toughest tests of the season so far.
