# Carragher hails Salah’s impact since joining Liverpool

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has hailed the impact Mohamed Salah has had at Anfield.

As reported by [Goal](https://www.goal.com/en/news/jamie-carragher-hails-mohamed-salahs-start-at-liverpool/17oihlahslk951701gej4k9jfp), Carragher, who was speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football claimed that no signing in the club’s history as made a better immediate impact at Anfield.

The former Chelsea winger joined the club from Roma for £39 million in the summer and has already netted 18 times in the Premier League this season.

The Egypt international was on target once again at the weekend, scoring the fourth in Liverpool’s 4-3 victory over Manchester City.

The former defender turned pundit believes there are only two players in the club’s history that made a similar impact.

> He (Suarez) was maybe a better signing all in all over three or four years, but in terms of the actual start, as soon as you come into the club.
>
> John Barnes when he came in the late 80s he was fantastic as soon as he came in. I can’t think of too many others who have made the impact.

Liverpool currently sit third in the Premier League following this weekend’s results, three points behind Manchester United who won on Monday night to move back into second place.
