# Carragher makes hilarious dig at Neville after Man United lose to Man City

Jamie Carragher produced a hilarious tweet to Gary Neville on Wednesday night, following Manchester United’s defeat to Manchester City.

Liverpool’s arch-rivals were dumped out of the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage, losing 2-0 at home to their local adversaries.

Much has been made of United being ‘joint top’ of the Premier League currently, even though they are clearly second on goal difference.

Neville himself has claimed as much on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/GNev2/status/1345128426311659521?s=20), giving Carragher the perfect ammunition on Wednesday.

After the United loss, the Liverpool legend took to the social media platform to [post a photo](https://twitter.com/Carra23/status/1346937309606907907?s=20) of a happy Neville, with the caption: ‘Joint semi finalists!’

It was a brilliant comeback from Carragher, as the surprise friendship between him and Neville continues.
