# Chelsea make bid for Ex-Liverpool star Pepe Reina

Chelsea are ready to offer AC Milan €5 million for former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, according to reports in Italy.

[Il Messaggero, as cited on Sport Mediaset](https://www.sportmediaset.mediaset.it/mercato/milan/milan-reina-puo-gia-essere-addio-il-chelsea-offre-5-milioni-di-euro_1227230-201802a.shtml), say that the Blues have put a two-year contract deal on the table that is believed to be worth around €70,000-a-week.

The deal would see Reina pocket around €3.5 million over the course of two years in London.

The report claims that, despite suggestions elsewhere, the Blues are only willing to offer Milan €5 million for his services this summer.

Despite only recently joining Milan from Napoli, the Blues are ready to offer the Rossoneri the chance to make a quick profit, having only signed on a free transfer.

Maurizio Sarri is keen to bring the player to London after working with him closely in Naples.

The Italian is said to be looking for a goalkeeper comfortable with the ball at his feet and Reina fits the bill better than other potential candidates.
