# Club Brugge interested in move for Divock Origi

Club Brugge have emerged as contenders to sign [Divock Origi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/10/liverpool-fans-despair-at-another-disappointing-divock-origi-display/) in January, according to *[Voetbal 24](https://www.voetbal24.be/news/66309/-club-brugge-wil-ver-gaan-om-in-januari-deze-rode-duivel-aan-te-trekken)* \[via *[Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-think-of-signing-klopps-man-in-january-liverpool-players-transfer-plans-unclear/)*\].

The 25-year-old has become increasingly out of favour at Liverpool these days, with his attacking teammates performing at a far higher level. Origi has featured for [only one minute](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/124688/Show/Divock-Origi) in the Premier League this season, while his performances in the Carabao Cup and Champions League have [invariably flattered to deceive](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/10/liverpool-fans-despair-at-another-disappointing-divock-origi-display/).

It could be that Liverpool are willing to offload the Belgian in January and Club Brugge, whose Champions League campaign [came to an agonising end](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9031969/Lazio-2-2-Club-Bruges-Hosts-survive-late-scare-qualify-16-Champions-League.html) in midweek, are interested in bringing him back to his homeland. It is [mentioned](https://www.voetbal24.be/news/66309/-club-brugge-wil-ver-gaan-om-in-januari-deze-rode-duivel-aan-te-trekken) that Origi might not be open to a temporary deal, however, suggesting a loan move could be all that Brugge can offer.

Brought to the club by [Brendan Rodgers six years ago](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brendan-rodgers/spielertransfers/trainer/1366), Origi’s status as a Liverpool [cult hero](https://talksport.com/football/623953/liverpool-divock-origi-merseyside-derbies-forgotten-man-cult-hero/), if not a legend, is undeniable, following his exploits in 2018/19. The striker scored memorable goals against [Tottenham](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48368443), [Barcelona](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48179167), [Newcastle](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48075158) and [Everton](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/328060-match-report-liverpool-everton) – moments which will never be forgotten.

That being said, the 25-year-old no longer feels a useful part of this Liverpool squad, too often [looking out of sync](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/10/liverpool-fans-despair-at-another-disappointing-divock-origi-display/) with his teammates.

It would be a big surprise if he was still at Anfield next season, but if Brugge were to offer a fee for him, a January exit could also make sense, generating funds for a new signing.
