# Coutinho craves cups

Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho has been speaking to the Liverpool Echo about his dream to win his first trophy with the club. Liverpool play Chelsea in the first leg of the Capital One Cup tomorrow night at Anfield and Coutinho is eager to get one over the blues and take a step closer to Wembley.

*“**I’ve never played at Wembley and it’s always been an ambition of mine to play there, Chelsea are a great side who are very difficult to play against but we’re in good form and we want to get through. We all want to lift that trophy,”* he told the Echo.

The Brazilian is confident that he can replicate past Liverpool heroes by winning: *“Trophies are what makes players – it’s what you are remembered for.”* However, Coutinho will first have put his friendship to one side as he comes up against four of his close compatriots tomorrow- *“… But those friendships are outside the pitch. On the pitch it is a different story. It’s a professional thing”.*

Liverpool have already played Chelsea at Anfield this season with the Blues running out 2-1 winners in November. Since then, Liverpool have somewhat turned a corner and are starting to produce solid performance and Coutinho believes this new found confidence will help them prevail, “*Probably the major difference now compared to then is the confidence in the team. It’s pretty much the same players but we are feeling much more confident now. It has got higher and higher with the positive results”*

The diminutive playmaker then went on to reassure Liverpool fans about his future, his contract is not due to expire until 2018 and Coutinho is happy to delay talks until after the conclusion of this season. *“I’m relaxed about it. I am very happy here. I have my family here and I want to stay at this club for a long time.”*

We hope the Brazilian continues his good form to help Liverpool build an advantage to take to the 2nd leg of the Capital One Cup next week.
