# Coutinho’s transfer add-ons revealed

Philippe Coutinho’s record-breaking £142 million transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona was completed this week, and the £36 million worth of add-ons have now been revealed, the Guardian report, cited by the [Daily Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/philippe-coutinho-transfer-add-ons-11827567).

While his total transfer is reported to be worth up to £142 million for Liverpool, the Guardian report that £36 million of the fee is made up of performance-related add-ons, from the player himself and the team collectively.

The Reds will receive £18 million if the Brazilian playmaker reaches 100 appearances for the club. Barcelona will pay £4.5 million after every 25 games Coutinho appears in.

However, with Coutinho out with a thigh injury for three weeks, the Reds will have to wait a little longer for their former man to start racking up the games for his new club.

The remaining £18 million will be received if Barcelona qualify for the Champions League in 2018/19 and 2019/20 again, paying £4.5 million per season, also if the Catalan giants win the competition in the two stated seasons, the Reds will receive £4.5 million on each occasion.
