# Curtis Jones receives host of plaudits for performance against Spurs

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/17/liverpool-2-1-tottenham-player-ratings/)‘s teenage sensation [Curtis Jones](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/16/liverpool-fans-react-to-reds-starting-lineup-against-tottenham/) has quickly become a crucial part of the Reds midfield after a host of [outstanding performances](https://www.sofascore.com/player/curtis-jones/927353) in quick succession.

Jones was voted [Man of the Match](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1339349128657199109) on Wednesday night as Liverpool went clear at the [top of the Premier League table](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) whilst maintaining their unbeaten home record with a last-gasp win over Tottenham.

The 19-year-old Scouser has been one of the beneficiaries from a plethora of [first team injuries](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-injury-crisis-jurgen-klopp-23085139) in Jurgen Klopp’s squad and has now given the manager a potential selection headache as the likes of [Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/388606-keita-oxlade-chamberlain-liverpool-midfield-options-klopp) and [Thiago Alcantara](https://twitter.com/Thiago6/status/1339299928112308231?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1339299928112308231%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Freadliverpoolfc.com%2F%3Fp%3D110405) edge closer to a return.

Unsurprisingly, the [forward-thinking playmaker](https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/curtis-jones-201920-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics) has come in for widespread acclaim following his latest performance, an outing full of endeavour, [audacious tricks](https://twitter.com/OwenWeatherall3/status/1339351255379025920) and driving runs.

We’ve collated a pick of the best Jones love-ins, with one Reds fan hailing him as a “star in the making”…
