# David Wagner keen on keeping Danny Ward at Huddersfield

Huddersfield manager David Wagner will ask Jurgen Klopp if he can keep Danny Ward for another season if the club secure promoted this season.

According to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4548668/David-Wagner-make-enquiries-Danny-Ward.html), Wagner is keen to keep hold of the youngster if the club reaches the Premier League on Monday.

Huddersfield meet Reading at Wembley on Monday afternoon for a place in the Premier League, in what is dubbed as ‘football’s riches game’.

Ward has been instrumental in their success this season in the Championship and he was the hero during their penalty shoot-out victory over Sheffield Wednesday in the semi-final.

The 24-year-old has kept 11 clean sheets throughout the season, something that has not gone unnoticed.

Klopp has already revealed that he plans to take Ward on Liverpool’s pre-season tour, to give him a chance to impress alongside Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

Liverpool have also been linked with moves for Joe Hart and Iker Casillas this summer, something which may boost Wagner’s chances of landing the young goalkeeper.
