# Dean Windass predicts legendary status for Harvey Elliott at Liverpool

[Former Premier League striker](https://www.premierleague.com/players/1672/Dean-Windass/stats) Dean Windass has made a bold prediction regarding the future of [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/23/liverpool-contact-sven-botman-agent-transfer-rumours/) starlet [Harvey Elliott](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/18/mowbray-harvey-elliott-blackburn-loan-liverpool/).

Speaking to [This Is Futbol](https://thisisfutbol.com/2020/12/blogs/premier-league/liverpool-dean-windass-believes-young-prospect-could-end-up-being-a-legend-for-liverpool-e17/), the 51-year-old claimed the teenage winger has everything it takes to become a “legend” with the Reds.

Elliott is currently on loan with Championship side Blackburn Rovers, where he has been attracting plenty of attention with [performances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/leistungsdaten/spieler/565822) indicative of a player well beyond his 17 years.

After the youngster recently [received acclaim](https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/december/tm-on-harvey/) from his current manager Tony Mowbray, Windass has now joined the growing list of admirers of the teenager’s talents.

He told [This Is Futbol](https://thisisfutbol.com/2020/12/blogs/premier-league/liverpool-dean-windass-believes-young-prospect-could-end-up-being-a-legend-for-liverpool-e17/): “He’s got a bright, bright future and he’ll end up being probably a legend for Liverpool because he is a great player. He is a talent, is the kid, and I enjoyed watching him in the cup games.”

Signed by the current Premier League champions [from Fulham in 2019](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/07/28/harvey-elliott-signs-liverpool-fulham/), Elliott had made [nine first team appearances for Liverpool](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/565822) before heading out on a season-long loan to continue his development.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

No pressure, then!

To obtain legendary status at a club with the [glorious history of Liverpool](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/history/past-players/forwards) and place oneself among the pantheon of names to have [graced Anfield down the years](https://tribuna.com/en/liverpoolfc/news/2020-02-22-from-dalglish-to-gerrard-here-is-how-the-list-of-liverpools-greatest-players-changed-in-j/) is no mean feat.

There is no doubting [Elliott’s natural talent](https://totalfootballanalysis.com/article/harvey-elliott-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics) and ability to do as he pleases with a ball at his feet, and the impact he is having during his spell in Lancashire at Championship level is not to be dismissed, with [four goals and four assists in 15 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harvey-elliott/leistungsdaten/spieler/565822).

Described as ‘[the real deal](https://www.goal.com/en-ie/news/elliott-looked-the-real-deal-it-beggars-belief-liverpool/23ny0p792sa61p5nqrcyuqtph)‘ by former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp in 2019, the hype around what the future could hold for Elliott is nothing new. Still just a teenager, he has plenty of learning and growing to do just yet, but Windass may prove to be not too far off the mark with his early prediction.
